  Kurt Reiner originally put his story, and that of his wife, Hennie, to paper accepting his responsibility to convey witness to the Holocaust. It is a story of a very young couple subjected to the Nazi reign of terror, performing everything in their power to escape Austria and find their way to America. In that light, it demonstrates the immense importance that America holds for refugees attempting to flee despot nations.
